Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
32-year-old Cassandra Goforth (Paragould, AR) and an unidentified minor were both fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. Ms. Goforth was traveling south on U.S. Highway 49 in Brookland when her vehicle (2012 Chevrolet Malibu) crossed the turn lane and entered the northbound lanes of traffic. Ms. Goforth’s vehicle struck a northbound vehicle (2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee). Ms. Goforth and the minor passenger sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
25-year-old Eileen Crystal Miller (Austin, TX) was driving the northbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. Ms. Miller was transported with injuries to Regional One in Memphis.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
