Pedestrian Struck on Highway 5 Near Rosebud

69-year-old John Schultz (Rosebud, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on State Highway 5 on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

At approximately 6:51 p.m. Mr. Schultz was reportedly in the roadway on Highway 5 in White County when a northbound 18-wheeler (2020 Freightliner) crested the hill. The semi-truck reportedly swerved to the right to avoid striking the pedestrian and entered the ditch. According to the report, the “pedestrian ran into the road ditch and was struck.”

Mr. John Schultz was transported to UAMS in Little Rock where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
