Stryker

Numerous lawsuits filed against the manufacturer, Stryker, have targeted several of their products including, but not limited to their ABG II Hip Replacements, LFIT V40 Femoral Heads, and most recently, Tritanium Acetabular Shells. Tritanium is a titanium-based alloy, and only in the last several years have complications arisen with the shell (cup).

Zimmer

Zimmer, in addition to Biomet (acquired in 2015), has paid millions to settle cases regarding their Durom Cup, an artificial socket. Additionally, the Zimmer M/L Taper Hip Prosthesis, including the Versys Femoral Head, is in the early stages of litigation.

Smith & Nephew

At least 4 hip replacement models have been listed in lawsuits against Smith & Nephew: the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing System (BHR), R3 Acetabular Hip System Metal Liners, as well as Smith & Nephew’s Modular Redapt Hip Implants and Modular SMF.
