Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
57-year-old Christopher West (Fort Smith, AR) was fatally injured in a cycling accident on Friday, February 18, 2022.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. Mr. West was cycling in the outside westbound lane of Grand Avenue in Fort Smith traveling west. A westbound vehicle (1992 Chevrolet pick-up) traveling in the outside lane of traffic struck Mr. West’s bicycle. The vehicle fled the scene of the accident. The accident took place at 1500 Grand Avenue.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
