Collision with Log Truck Near Monticello Proves Fatal

69-year-old Nancy White (McGehee, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

At approximately 3:05 p.m. Ms. White was traveling east on U.S. Highway 278 when her vehicle (2013 Kia) crossed the centerline “for an undetermined reason.” Ms. White’s vehicle struck the left side of axles 4 and 5 on an empty log trailer (2009 Mack) in the westbound lane of traffic.
