Logan County Collision on Arkansas River Bridge Leads to the Death of Gwendle Self

58-year-old Gwendle Self (Scranton) was fatally injured in an accident that took place near 3:15 p.m. on Monday, November 12.

Mr. Self was traveling north on Highway 109 across the Arkansas River Bridge in Logan County near Morrison Bluff. Mr. Self’s 2004 Pontiac veered right and struck the concrete wall of the bridge before sliding into southbound traffic. Mr. Self’s vehicle slid and struck a southbound 2008 Ford that applied its brakes in an attempt to avoid the collision.

Weather conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly cloudy and road conditions clear.
