Highway 35 Accident in Arkansas Claims Two Lives on Thursday

22-year-old Drew Anthony Thomas (Monticello, AR) and 21-year-old Talia Latrice Pirtle (Memphis, TN) were both fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

At approximately 7:25 p.m. Mr. Thomas was driving south on State Highway 35 in Drew County near Monticello when his vehicle (2000 Toyota) left the roadway to the right. Mr. Thomas’s vehicle overturned before landing in “a deep ditch area full of water.”

Ms. Talia Pirtle was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident and sustained fatal injuries in the wreck.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
