Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
47-year-old Casaday Moseley Saunders (Fayetteville, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Monday, August 10, 2020.
At approximately 1:06 p.m. Ms. Saunders was traveling north in the righthand lane of N Crossover Road (State Highway 265) in Fayetteville. A vehicle (2014 Toyota Camry) was stopped in the righthand lane of N Crossover at the intersection of E Hearthstone Drive. A second vehicle (2010 Nissan Sentra) was slowing to a stop behind the stopped Toyota vehicle. Ms. Saunders attempted to shift into the lefthand lane but her vehicle (2013 Ford Escape) struck the rear left of the slowing Nissan vehicle before also clipping the mirror of the stopped Toyota vehicle. Ms. Saunders’ vehicle overturned several times.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
