Athciri Martinez Fatally Injured in I-530 Collision

25-year-old Athciri Martinez (Hamburg, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Monday, April 19, 2021.

At approximately 6:13 a.m. Mr. Martinez was driving south on Interstate 530 (reportedly in Lincoln County). Mr. Martinez was accompanied by an unidentified minor.

A vehicle (2006 Dodge Ram) traveling north crossed the centerline and struck Mr. Martinez’s vehicle (2019 Hyundai Tucson) head-on. Mr. Martinez’s vehicle overturned in the collision.

The minor passenger and the driver of the northbound vehicle, 43-year-old John Hodges, Jr. (Kelly, LA) were both transported with injuries. Those injured were transported to JRMC in Pine Bluff and UAMS in Little Rock.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
