Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
34-year-old Ashley Pharr of Hot Springs was fatally injured after she was ejected from her vehicle in a Saline County motel on Wednesday, June 13. At approximately 12:30 a.m., Ms. Pharr’s vehicle, a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner veered from the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near mile marker 115 in Benton. Her vehicle crossed the median and northbound service road before overturning and striking the east end of the Trout Motel. Ms. Pharr was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. An occupant of the motel was struck by the vehicle and transported to nearby Saline Memorial Hospital. 45-year-old Dharmishthaben D. Patel was asleep at the time of the accident.
