58-year-old Kathy Pannell, of Melbourne, was fatally injured after her 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora crossed the centerline of state highway 69 in Izard County. Ms. Pannell’s vehicle struck a 2003 Ford Taurus head-on.
Arkansas State Police had no indication of why Ms. Pannell’s vehicle had crossed into oncoming traffic. Conditions at the time of the accident were clear and dry.
