Vehicle Drivers Over Greers Ferry Dam Overlook, Killing Driver

28-year-old Ismael Ponce (Clarksville, Tennessee) was fatally injured in an accident on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

At approximately 9:02 a.m. Mr. Ponce was the driver of a vehicle (2018 Chevy) parked at the JFK Overlook at Greers Ferry Dam in Heber Springs. According to the report, Mr. Ponce’s vehicle drove through the fence and over the bluff. Mr. Ponce’s vehicle crashed into the side of Greers Ferry Dam and came to a final rest overturned at the bottom of the dam. Mr. Lopez was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

28-year-old Yesi Lopez (Clarksville, TN) was a passenger in the vehicle and was trapped inside as the vehicle came to a final rest. Ms. Lopez was transported to UAMS in Little Rock.
