Head-on Collision Claims Van Buren Man’s Life
25-year-old Calvin D. Eubanks (Fort Smith, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
At approximately 6:18 p.m. Mr. Eubanks was the passenger in a vehicle traveling east on Arkansas State Highway 255 (Zero Street) when his vehicle (2003 Pontiac) entered the intersection with South 31st Street in Fort Smith. According to the report, the driver of Mr. Eubanks’ vehicle had a red light when the vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a 2008 Toyota traveling north on South 31st Street. Mr. Eubanks vehicle then collided with a 2022 Kia traveling west on Highway 255 before overturning and striking another westbound vehicle (2010 Hyundai).
Mr. Calvin Eubanks sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
The driver of Mr. Eubanks’ vehicle, an unidentified minor, sustained injuries in the collision. Additionally, 23-year-old Kevin T. Swafford (Paris, AR), 46-year-old James Summers (Arkoma, AR), and 65-year-old Ricky A. Wofford (Fort Smith, AR) sustained injuries in the wreck.
Those injured were transported to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
