Fatal I-40 Wreck in Arkansas Claims Two Lives, Injures Three

59-year-old William Burrow (Bald Knob, AR) and 39-year-old Jesse Lowrey (Copan, OK) were both fatally injured in an accident that took place on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. Mr. Burrow and Mr. Lowrey, along with 39-year-old Clint Jones (Dewey, OK), exited their vehicle to assist passengers (2020 Ford Focus) in a prior accident on I-40. While assisting, a westbound vehicle (2003 Chevrolet Avalanche) left the roadway and struck the Ford vehicle being assisted.

Mr. Burrow, Mr. Lowrey, Mr. Jones, and 38-year-old Clarissa Hobbs (Fort Eustis, VA) who also stopped to help, were all struck in the incident.

Additionally, 56-year-old Wanda Sarver (Whitley City, KY) who was involved in the prior accident, sustained injuries.

Those injured were transported to Baptist Health and Mercy Hospital.

Weather conditions were rainy and cloudy, and road conditions wet at the time of the accident.
