Runaway Motorcycle Leads to Fatal Accident Near Center Ridge

18-year-old Matthew E. Mashburn, Jr. (Conway, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

At approximately 10:35 a.m. Mr. Mashburn was “actively fleeing from law enforcement at a high rate of speed,” while traveling northbound on State Highway 9 north of Center Ridge. Mr. Mashburn’s motorcycle (2008 Suzuki G60) collided with a southbound vehicle (2021 Ford EcoSport) attempting a lefthand turn onto Ludy Road. Both vehicles exited the roadway before catching fire.

70-year-old Lynda L. Marsden (Clinton, AR) was driving the southbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the accident. An unidentified minor passenger also sustained injuries in the collision. Those injured were transported to Conway Regional Medical Center.
