Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
41-year-old Jeffrey Freeman (Sheridan, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Monday, August 23, 2021.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. Mr. Freeman was traveling east on Military Road in Benton. A vehicle (2017 GMC Sierra) traveling west on Military Road entered the center turn lane before attempting to turn left into a Sonic Drive-in on Military Road. According to the police report, the GMC vehicle “negotiated a left turn across the eastbound lanes having not observed [Mr. Freeman’s scooter] approaching without its headlight on.” Mr. Freeman’s scooter (2017 TaoTao Powermax) collided with the front passenger side of the GMC vehicle.
