Flooded Arkansas Highway Leads to the Death of Pocahontas Resident, Jeffrey C. Richardson

57-year-old Jeffrey C. Richardson, of Pocahontas, was fatally injured Sunday afternoon, February 26th, in a single-vehicle crash on a flooded Arkansas Highway 226, just east of Village Creek.

Water pouring across the highway caused Mr. Richardon’s westbound 2005 Ford truck to lose control. After crossing into the eastbound lane, and correcting, the vehicle spun clockwise into the ditch north of Highway 226. Mr. Richardson’s truck rolled onto its passenger side and struck a pole before coming to a rest upside down in a waterlogged ditch.
