Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
73-year-old Elizabeth B. Karsner of Tuscon, Arizona was fatally injured in a hit-n-run accident shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 5.
Mrs. Karsner was traveling with her husband on Interstate 30 when they stopped at the Arkansas Welcome Center to rest. Mrs. Karsner walked from the welcome center into the eastbound lanes of I-30 when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle left the scene.
Conditions at the time were reportedly clear and dry.
