18-Wheeler Careens Off I-40 Claiming Two Lives

47-year-old Dallas M. Jones (Mount Airy, NC) and 59-year-old Wade H. Blevins (Lansing, NC) were both fatally injured in an accident that took place on Sunday, September 16.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Mr. Jones’ 2015 Freightliner began to drift into the median while westbound on Interstate 40 near mile marker 95. Mr. Jones over-corrected and ran off the north shoulder of the interstate. The semi-truck ran over the guardrail and into the tree line, colliding with several trees as the trailer of the semi-truck rotated and overturned, along with the tractor itself.

Conditions at the time were reportedly clear and dry.
