Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
34-year-old Cody Williams (Bald Knob, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
At approximately 5:51 p.m. Mr. Cody Williams was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on U.S. Highway 67 through Searcy. Due to a prior accident, Mr. Williams’s vehicle (2011 Toyota Corolla) was stopped in congested traffic between a 2019 Ram 1500 and a 2011 Jeep Renegade.
A vehicle (2014 GMC Sierra) traveling south failed to stop for traffic and struck the rear of the Dodge Ram 1500. The impact forced the Dodge vehicle into Mr. Williams’s Toyota vehicle, which in turn was forced into the Jeep vehicle.
27-year-old Rusty Robertson (Kensett, AR) was driving the vehicle Mr. Williams was a passenger in and sustained injuries in the collision. Mr. Robertson was transported with injuries to Unity Health Medical Center.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
