Standing Water on Interstate 40 Results in 21-year-old's Death

21-year-old Andrew W. Tippit (Dardanelle) was fatally injured in an accident on Interstate 40 on Friday, August 17.

Mr. Tippit was headed east on I-40 near Brinkley when he lost control of his vehicle (2006 Nissan Sentra) and struck the rear of a 2016 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. Mr. Tippit’s Nissan was then struck by a second 2011 Peterbilt semi-truck before coming to a rest.

Weather conditions at the time of the accident were “Heavy Rain,” and road conditions were reportedly “Standing Water.”
