Greenbrier Man Fatally Injured in Hwy 65 Collision
54-year-old Richard Allen Collins (Murfreesboro, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
At approximately 11:18 a.m. Mr. Collins was traveling east on Highway 84 near Bismarck. An eastbound vehicle (2013 Dodge Avenger) traveling in front of Mr. Collins attempted a U-turn on Highway 84. Mr. Collins attempted to avoid a collision with the Dodge vehicle but his 18-wheeler (1989 Peterbilt) struck the rear driver side of the Dodge vehicle. Mr. Collins’ semi-truck traveled into a ditch on the north side of the roadway and overturned.
37-year-old Brittany Carrol Fowler (Aurora, AR) and two unidentified minors were involved in the accident and sustained injuries. Those injured were transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Hot Springs.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
