Motorcyclist Loses Life in Wreck Involving Alma School Bus

67-year-old Billy Ray Faries, of Fort Smith, was traveling east on a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle when he failed to navigate a curve on Highway 282 just east of Rudy and collided with the driver’s side of a westbound 2015 Hyundai, according to Arkansas State Police.

Authorities say that following the initial collision, Mr. Faries “was separated from his vehicle and struck the driver’s side” of an Alma School District bus. Mr. Faries was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. An unnamed student was reportedly injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Conditions at the time of the accident were clear and dry.
