Wet Roads Near Siloam Springs Lead to Fatal Accident on Hwy 16

71-year-old Marilyn Steidley (Eufaula, OK) and 76-year-old Wallace Steidley (Eufaula, OK) were both fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

At approximately 10:34 a.m. Ms. Steidley and Mr. Steidley were traveling east on Highway 16 south of Siloam of Springs.

An eastbound vehicle (1999 Mazda) traveling “too fast for conditions” lost control and struck the rear driver side of a westbound vehicle (2005 Chevrolet) causing the Chevrolet vehicle to spin. The westbound vehicle spun clockwise and crossed the centerline before colliding head-on with Mr. and Ms. Steidley’s vehicle (2005 Nissan) before then striking another eastbound vehicle (2008 Mazda).

67-year-old Connie Mott (Skiatook, OK) was driving the eastbound 2008 Mazda vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision, as well.

Those injured were transported to Washington Regional Medical Center.

Weather conditions were rainy and road conditions wet at the time of the accident.
