5 Injured, 1 Dead in Highway 65 Collision Near Harrison

40-year-old Maria Ruiz (Rogers, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Monday, September 28, 2020.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. Ms. Ruiz was a passenger in a stationary vehicle on the southbound shoulder of Highway 65. Ms. Ruiz’s vehicle (2017 Toyota) attempted to make a U-turn but pulled in front of a southbound vehicle (2010 Ford). The front of the Ford vehicle struck the driver’s side rear of the Toyota vehicle.

43-year-old Michael Hendricks (Harrison, AR) was driving the Ford vehicle at the time of the accident and sustained injuries.

Additional injuries included the driver of the Toyota vehicle, 20-year-old Johnathan Aviles(Rogers, AR), as well as 22-year-old Theresa Lyn (Rogers, AR), 35-year-old Francisco Durin (Rogers, AR), and an unidentified female minor (Rogers, AR).

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
