4 Lives Lost in Fatal Head-on Collision in Arkansas

76-year-old Brenda J. Horn (Sulphur Rock, AR), 77-year-old Donna S. Crabtree (Sulphur Rock, AR), 78-year-old Judy A. Knox (Halls, Tennessee), and 58-year-old Kathy G. Smith (Batesville, AR) were all fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, April 13, 2021.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Ms. Horn, Ms. Crabtree, and Ms. Knox were in a vehicle (2020 Toyota Prius) traveling north on State Highway 69 in Independence County. Ms. Smith was traveling south on State Highway 69 when her vehicle (2011 Ford Taurus) crossed the centerline near mile 3 and struck the northbound Prius head-on in the northbound lane of traffic.

A third vehicle (2010 Dodge Ram) attempted to avoid the initial collision but slid into the Toyota vehicle.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
