An unidentified male minor was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

At approximately 9:40 a.m. the minor was driving north on U.S. Highway 167 in Independence County when his vehicle (2007 Chrysler 300) crossed all lanes of traffic colliding head-on with an 18-wheeler (2016 Freightliner) traveling south.

36-year-old Karry Didway (Yantis, TX) was driving the Freightliner semi-truck at the time of the accident and was transported with injuries to White River Medical Center.

Weather conditions were cloudy and road conditions dry at the time of the accident.
