Head-On Collision Claims 1 Life, Injures 2 on Saturday

35-year-old Joanna McJunkin (McRae, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Ms. McJunkin was the passenger in a vehicle (2004 Pontiac) traveling north on State Highway 155 in Union County when the vehicle she was traveling in crossed the centerline. Ms. McJunkin’s vehicle collided head-on with a  southbound vehicle (2015 Toyota).

Road conditions were wet and weather conditions rainy at the time of the accident.

30-year-old James Williams (Ward, AR) was driving the northbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. 25-year-old Shawn Strickling (El Dorado, AR) was driving the southbound vehicle and sustained injuries.

Those injured were transported to the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
