1 Dead, 1 Injured in Fatal Midnight Collision Near Proctor

34-year-old Jimmy C. Beard, Jr. (Hughes, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Monday, March 15, 2021.

At approximately 12:11 a.m. Mr. Beard, Jr. was traveling south on State Highway 147 south of Proctor when his vehicle (2016 Ford Fusion) approached the intersection with Neuhardt Road. Mr. Beard’s vehicle crossed the centerline into northbound traffic.

An unidentified female minor was driving north on Highway 147 when Mr. Beard’s vehicle crossed the centerline. The northbound vehicle (2019 Kia Optima) “merged left in an attempt to avoid [Mr. Beard’s vehicle],” but Mr. Beard’s vehicle struck the northbound vehicle before rolling over.
