Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Collides with 18-Wheeler

38-year-old Jay Jayroe (Palestine, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Monday, July 20, 2020.

At approximately 6:42 p.m. Mr. Jayroe was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Forrest City when his vehicle (2006 BMW 325) collided head-on with an 18-wheeler (2018 Freightliner) traveling west.

58-year-old James Miller, Jr. (Atoka, TX) was driving the westbound 18-wheeler at the time of the accident. Mr. Miller was transported with injuries to Forrest City Medical Center.

A westbound 18-wheeler (2019 Freightliner) traveling behind Mr. Miller’s semi-truck rear-ended Mr. Miller’s 18-wheeler after the initial collision.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
