An unidentified female minor was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

At approximately 11:39 a.m. two female minors were traveling north on South Crossroads in Portia when they attempted to turn left onto U.S. Highway 63. Their vehicle (2005 Hyundai Elantra) pulled in front of and was struck by a semi-truck (2017 International IHC) traveling south on U.S. Highway 63.

The driver was fatally injured and the passenger in the vehicle transported with injuries to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
