Driver Fatally Injured on Black River Bridge

42-year-old George Koettel (Imboden, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Monday, January 19, 2026.

At approximately 12:09 p.m. Mr. Koettel was traveling west on US 63 near Black Rock, Arkansas, when his vehicle (2000 Mercury) lost control and crossed the centerline. Mr. Koettel’s vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle (1997 Ford). Mr. Koettel sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

51-year-old Randy Tribble (Pocahontas, AR) was driving the Ford vehicle and sustained injuries. Mr. Tribble was transported to St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
