Woman Struck on Highway 167 in Cave City
57-year-old Gary Wayne Lea (North Little Rock, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
At approximately 12:13 a.m. Mr. Lea was traveling south on U.S. 67/167 in Sherwood when Mr. Lea lost control of his motorcycle on wet roadways. Mr. Lea’s motorcycle (2005 Yamaha) “became disabled in the middle lane” and Mr. Lea was separated from his motorcycle. A southbound vehicle (2008 Hyundai Sonata) “veered around [Mr. Lea]” and struck the motorcycle. A third southbound vehicle, however, struck Mr. Lea in the middle southbound lane of U.S. 67/167. According to the report, the third vehicle “continued without stopping and has not been identified.”
Weather conditions were cloudy and rain and road conditions wet at the time of the accident.
