Greenbrier Man Fatally Injured in Hwy 65 Collision
30-year-old Diego Misael Olayo Chagoya (Fayetteville, AR), 63-year-old Books Aitchison (Plumerville, AR), and 63-year-old Zakee Wadood (Hazen, AR) were all fatally injured in an accident that took place on Monday, August 24, 2020.
33-year-old Allen Martinez (Fayetteville, AR) and 66-year-old Darci Amaral (Cupertino, CA) sustained non-fatal injuries in the accident.
At approximately 12:12 p.m. Mr. Wadood’s vehicle (2006 Dodge) was traveling west when it crossed the center median going over the metal cable barrier and into eastbound traffic.
Mr. Wadood’s vehicle struck Mr. Aitchison’s vehicle (2003 BMW) before striking Mr. Chagoya’s vehicle (2002 Dodge). Mr. Chagoya’s vehicle overturned “spilling its load leaving the roadway.” Mr. Wadood’s vehicle and Mr. Aitchison’s vehicle struck the cable barrier.
Ms. Amaral’s vehicle (2017 Isuzu) and a fifth vehicle were struck by debris, and Ms. Amaral’s vehicle struck the cable barrier.
Those involved were transported with injuries to Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock and UAMS in Little Rock.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
