Five-Vehicle Collision on I-40 Leads to Driver's Death

60-year-old Anthony Rhodes (Arlington, TX) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.

At approximately 7:25 a.m. Mr. Rhodes was traveling west on Interstate 40 near mile marker 252. Traffic was slowing due to a previous accident. Mr. Rhodes failed to yield to slowing traffic and his vehicle (2015 Volvo semi-truck) struck the left rear of a 2011 Freightliner 18-wheeler and the right side of a 2017 Freightliner 18-wheeler. The 2011 Freightliner, in turn, collided with a 2017 Ram 2500, which then struck a 2014 Freightliner 18-wheeler.

Conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly rainy and wet.
