Central City Collision Claims 3 Lives on May 7, 2022

54-year-old Sherrie McCutcheon (Charleston, AR), 34-year-old Krystal Jones (Charleston, AR), and an unidentified minor were all fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Ms. Jones was driving east on State Highway 22 in Central City when a westbound vehicle (2014 Land Rover LR2) crossed the centerline and turn lane and struck Ms. Jones’ vehicle (2002 GMC Yukon) head-on. The collision took place near Carter Street in Central City.

Ms. McCutcheon was a passenger in the vehicle, as was the minor who sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Additional injuries occurred to three additional passengers in Ms. Jones’ vehicle, all unidentified minors.

The westbound vehicle driver was also a minor and unidentified in the preliminary reports.

Those injured were transported to Baptist Medical Center in Fort Smith and Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
