Police Chase Ends in Biker's Death in Fort Smith

24-year-old James Degnan (Fort Smith, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Thursday, January 2, 2020.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. Mr. Degnan was “fleeing” Arkansas State Police who were in pursuit of Mr. Degnan on Grand Avenue near I-540. Mr. Degnan ran a red light traveling west at the intersection of Grand Avenue and N. Waldron Road where his motorcycle (2007) struck the passenger side of a northbound vehicle (2019 SUV).

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
