Three-Car Collision on U.S. 270 Leads to Driver's Death

71-year-old John H. Ostman (Royal, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. Mr. Ostman and 82-year-old Norietta Ostman (Royal, AR) were traveling west on U.S. Highway 270 between Piney and Royal, Arkansas. Mr. Ostman’s vehicle (2013 Toyota Scion) was coming to a stop behind a westbound vehicle (2013 Cadillac ESV) stopped in the westbound lane preparing to turn left onto Jetson Loop when they were struck in the rear by a third westbound vehicle (2013 Chrysler 300).

Ms. Ostman was transported with injuries to CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.

Conditions at the time were reportedly clear and dry.
