Sydney Owens Fatally Struck in Fort Smith
27-year-old Tapanga Maxwell (Yellville, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, February 10, 2023.
At approximately 7:13 p.m. Ms. Tapanga Maxwell was driving east on U.S. 62 between Gassville and Mountain Home when a westbound vehicle (2003 Lincoln) crossed the centerline and collided head-on with Ms. Maxwell’s vehicle (1999 Ford) in the eastbound lane of traffic. Ms. Maxwell’s vehicle left the highway before rolling and catching fire. Ms. Tapanga Maxwell sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
45-year-old Branden Phillips (Lincoln, AR) was a passenger in Ms. Maxwell’s vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. 39-year-old Jason Boisclair (Gassville, AR) was traveling in the westbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. Those injured were transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center and Cox South Hospital.
Weather conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
