Staff Spotlight: Summer Chisum

This month, we’re shining a light on Summer Chisum, who joined the TKL family on November 28, 2022, as a records clerk.

Handling medical records presents challenges, but Summer faces them head-on. “Getting and keeping provider information up to date is one of the most challenging tasks,” she explains. With detective skills and a willingness to seek assistance, Summer turns her obstacles into opportunities.

When asked about memorable moments with coworkers, Summer loved celebrating Halloween at TKL. “I’m a ‘go all out’ type of person,” she shares, “so it was exciting to see so many people dressed up and in creative costumes!”

For Summer, her pets and family make her feel like “the luckiest girl in the whole world!” Summer’s biggest influence? Her grandma. From baking sweets to sharing wisdom, her grandma has been her support and guidance. “I’m essentially her mini-me,” Summer proudly declares.

Among the quotes Summer holds dear is one by Henri Matisse: “There are always flowers for those who want to see them.” When asked what makes her unique as a team member, Summer responds, “No thoughts are coming to mind… I’m just unique?” She undoubtedly enriches our team dynamic.

Educational, motivating, and comical are the 3 words that encapsulate Summer’s experience at TKL.

Beyond her role at TKL, Summer’s life is filled with hobbies like roller skating, crafting, and hiking. Her passion for animal welfare shines through her dedication to TNR (trap and release) efforts which help spay and neuter strays for adoption.
