Stacy Houston Loses Life After Vehicle Hydroplanes on a Wet Highway 63

42-year-old Stacy Houston (Sedgwick, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, September 7.

Rainy conditions caused Mr. Houston’s vehicle (2002 Ford Mustang) to hydroplane. Mr. Houston was traveling south on U.S. Highway 63 in Lawrence County when his vehicle began to hydroplane and spin.

40-year-old Kristen Austin (Jonesboro, AR) and an unidentified minor were traveling north in a 2016 Dodge Challenger on U.S. 63. 37-year-old Billy Nelson (Imboden, AR) was also traveling north behind Mr. Austin in a 2001 Ford Taurus.

Mr. Houston’s vehicle spun into northbound traffic striking Ms. Austin’s Dodge Challenger before then striking Mr. Nelson’s Ford Taurus.

Mr. Houston suffered fatal injuries in the accident. Others involved in the accident were transported to St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Weather conditions at the time were rainy and road conditions wet.
