22-year-old Roger Jones Jr. (Newport, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019.
At approximately 1:56 a.m. Mr. Jones was traveling west on Highway 224 South in Newport. Mr. Jones’ vehicle (1997 GMC) attempted to negotiate a left-hand curve but lost control and left the highway before striking a culvert, overturning, and striking a tree.
Conditions at the time were reportedly clear and dry.
