Teenager Fatally Injured on Mount Magazine Scenic Byway

19-year-old Roberto Oblea (Danville, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Monday, February 1, 2021.

At approximately 6:20 a.m. Mr. Oblea was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on State Highway 309 (Mt. Magazine Scenic Byway) when the vehicle (2012 Chevrolet Cruze) left the roadway just south of the Mount Magazine State Park Lodge. The vehicle traveled down a steep embankment before striking a tree on the passenger side.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
