Hot Springs Collision on Monday Claims 2 Lives

75-year-old Joyce M. Newton (Leola, AR) and 76-year-old Robert G. Newton (Leola, AR) were both fatally injured in an accident on Monday, September 26, 2022.

At approximately 1:19 Ms. Joyce Newton and Mr. Robert Newton were both passengers in a vehicle that attempted to make a lefthand turn out of a private drive (3940 Malvern Avenue) onto Malvern Avenue (U.S. 270 E). Their vehicle (2017 Ford Edge) was struck by an eastbound vehicle (1992 Chevy S-10). The front of the Chevy vehicle struck the driver’s side of their Ford vehicle in the eastbound lanes of traffic.

Both Ms. Newton and Mr. Newton were transported with injuries to a local hospital where they alter succumbed to their injuries.

73-year-old Kenneth W. Newton (Leola, AR) also sustained injuries in the collision. 40-year-old Christopher B. Rogers (Malvern, AR) was involved in the accident and sustained injuries in the crash.

Those injured were transported to CHI St. Vincent and National Park Medical Center.
