2 Lives Lost in Fatal 6-Car Wreck on Highway 67

70-year-old Phyllis A. Kerr (North Little Rock, AR) and 97-year-old Clayton A. Meharg (Letona, AR) were both fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

At approximately 8:52 a.m. Ms. Kerr and Mr. Meharg were traveling south on U.S. Highway 67 in Cabot when their vehicle (2021 Toyota Camry) was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler (2001 Freightliner) near mile marker 16. The collision from the semi-truck forced Ms. Kerr and Mr. Meharg’s vehicle into a southbound Dodge (2020) vehicle, forcing the Dodge vehicle off the roadway. Ms. Kerr’s vehicle was then pushed into a 2013 Ford Fusion, forcing the Ford vehicle off the roadway. Their vehicle struck an additional vehicle (2019 Toyota Highlander) which in turn struck a sixth southbound vehicle (2015 Ford Prius).

26-year-old Alaya Spivey (Beebe, AR) and an unidentified male minor were traveling in the Ford Fusion and sustained injuries in the collision.

61-year-old Suzanne Bennett (Judsona, AR) was traveling in the Toyota Highlander vehicle and sustained injuries. Those injured were transported to Springhill Baptist Hospital.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
