An unidentified minor male was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

At approximately 11:17 p.m. two unidentified male minors were traveling north on Columbia County Road 53 when the vehicle (2008 Ford pick-up truck) failed to negotiate a curve near Columbia Lake and County Road 154 and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and overturned.

The driver was fatally injured in the accident, and the passenger was transported with injuries to Magnolia Regional Hospital.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
