Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
83-year-old Mary Cross (Fort Smith, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Shortly before 8:00 a.m. Ms. Cross was crossing N 50th Street in Fort Smith in the crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle attempting to turn south onto N 50th Street. The vehicle (2017 Ford) struck Ms. Cross in the crosswalk of N 50th Street at the intersection of North O Street.
Ms. Cross was transported to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith where she later succumbed to her injuries.
