Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
20-year-old Kristopher Ford (Memphis, TN) and 20-year-old Jessie L. White (Memphis, TN) were both fatally injured in an accident that took place on Saturday, July 27, 2019.
At approximately 4:20 a.m. the Hernando Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. The vehicle (Nissan Maxima) fled northbound on Interstate 55 via the southbound exit of Commerce Street before striking a guard rail near Mount Pleasant Road (Byhalia Road). “Several people” were ejected from the vehicle.
Both Mr. Ford and Mr. White were ejected from the vehicle.
