Minor Fatally Injured in I-40 Collision on Tuesday

An unidentified male minor passenger was fatally injured in an accident on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

At approximately 10:20 a.m. the minor was a passenger in a vehicle traveling east on I-40 in Arkansas near the Mississippi River bridge crossing into Tennessee. The vehicle (2009 Lincoln MKZ) stalled after running out of gas in the righthand traffic lane and was struck from behind by another eastbound vehicle (2016 Chevy Cruze).

The driver, 24-year-old Alexandria Burks (West Memphis, AR), passenger, 32-year-old Lemeisia Warren (West Memphis, AR), and another minor passenger, sustained injuries in the collision. Those injured were transported to Lebonheur Medical Center in Memphis.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
