65-year-old Joyce Marie Owens (West Helena, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
At approximately 5:51 p.m. Ms. Owens was a passenger in a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 40 when her vehicle (2013 Dodge Van) struck the front right corner of a trailer.
According to the report, a vehicle (1998 Ford Truck) traveling west on Interstate 40 had attempted to make a u-turn at an “Authorized Only” median crossover after experiencing mechanical issues. The trailer of the vehicle dropped off the road, partially blocking the eastbound lane.
72-year-old Clardy Lee Gray (Marvell, AR) and 64-year-old Diane Willis (West Helena, AR) were both injured in the accident.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
